Developing a Championship SAF Team
At NWABF, we greatly value the vast professional depth of our business team and how we came together in recent years to work on our initial Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) project. Each of our team members has brought significant expertise and experience in various disciplines – construction, engineering, finance, operations, logistics and more – to the SAF project.
And when we think of this team, we cannot help but consider how Sports Champions come together. They get along well and create life-long bonds, work hard, make wise decisions and execute the playbook. They show up every day!
All these pieces must be in place for a Team to make their way to winning. In football, the grand prize is the Super Bowl, the NFL’s annual spectacle of pro sports entertainment and sheer athleticism. Our team at NWABF was put together like we were preparing for our own Super Bowl, the “Super Bowl of SAF”.
Overcoming obstacles
In my lifetime, I’ve been fortunate to know NFL players who have made it to the Super Bowl, World Series and NBA World Championship. I’ve marveled at the stories they have told me about the challenges they faced in getting to the pinnacle of sports; the obstacles they had to overcome.
Our team at Northwest Advanced Bio-Fuels LLC also faces challenges in getting our Sustainable Aviation Fuel Project up and running to reach our goals. But we know that our Championship Team (whom I’ll profile here on this blog in the coming weeks), works hard, makes good decisions and executes on our playbook to a win. WE SHOW UP!
Athletes should always strive to become great, make the Team and work hard with the other players to win THE championship. It is no different for our Team; made up of developers, engineers, finance, and operations. We too want to win a championship. And we will win, because this team is dedicated to the big vision to produce a SAF World Championship that will help reduce carbon emissions and jet fuel emissions in the coming years.
The SAF project is literally our Super Bowl. And the game’s only in the first quarter. We will keep you posted on this Blog of our Quarter by Quarter performance!
And, we will win!
